1. Acceptance
By creating an API key or sending requests to the Limitguard API, you ("Customer") agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are acting on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. Service description
Limitguard provides a Trust Intelligence API that aggregates data from multiple verification sources (business registries, sanctions lists, domain intelligence, financial identifiers) and returns trust scores, risk assessments, and compliance signals. The API is accessed via HTTPS at api.limitguard.ai.
3. API keys and access
- Access requires a valid API key passed via the
X-API-Keyheader. - API keys are confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your key.
- Do not share, publish, or embed API keys in client-side code.
- We may revoke keys that are compromised, abused, or violate these Terms.
- Sandbox mode is available for testing without incurring charges.
4. Payment
Limitguard uses the x402 payment protocol for per-request billing. When a paid endpoint returns HTTP 402, the response includes payment instructions. Your client completes payment on-chain (Solana) before the request is fulfilled.
- Prices are denominated in USD and settled in USDC on Solana.
- Payment is per-request. There are no subscriptions or minimum commitments unless separately agreed.
- Refunds for completed API calls are not available, as the service is delivered instantly upon payment.
- We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days advance notice posted on this page and in the API documentation.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the API for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable regulations.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or payment requirements.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying scoring algorithms.
- Resell API responses as a competing trust intelligence service without prior written agreement.
- Submit requests designed to overload, disrupt, or probe the security of the service.
- Use trust scores as the sole basis for denying individuals access to essential services without human review.
6. Data and privacy
- Data you submit via API calls is processed solely to return trust intelligence results.
- We do not use your data to train models, sell to third parties, or for our own marketing.
- Personal data processing is governed by our Data Processing Agreement and Privacy Policy.
- All data is hosted in the EU (Germany). See the DPA for sub-processor details.
7. Service level
Uptime commitments and credit terms are defined in the Service Level Agreement. The SLA is incorporated by reference into these Terms for paid-tier customers.
8. Intellectual property
- The Limitguard API, scoring methodology, documentation, and branding remain the property of Ambulatio Consulting BV.
- You retain ownership of data you submit. We claim no rights over your input data or the decisions you make based on API responses.
- API responses (trust scores, risk signals) are licensed for your internal business use. You may display scores to your own customers in the context of your service.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The API is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and accuracy of results.
Trust scores are informational. They do not constitute legal, financial, or compliance advice. You are responsible for your own compliance decisions.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from these Terms shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or business interruption.
- This limitation does not apply to liability arising from gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or to liability that cannot be excluded under Dutch law.
11. Termination
- You may stop using the API at any time. No notice is required for per-request billing.
- We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, with notice where practicable.
- Upon termination, your API keys are revoked. Data retention and deletion follow the DPA.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms with 30 days advance notice. Notice will be provided via email to registered API key holders and by updating this page. Continued use of the API after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in Breda, the Netherlands. For EU consumers, mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence apply where they offer greater protection.
